Description	:	Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Larson Funeral Home at Newell for Mrs. Lyle Jackson, a former Newell resident who passed away at the Swallum hospital at Storm Lake after a long illness. Rev Von Elbert, pastor of the Newell Baptist church, officiated, assisted by Rev. J. Bloomquist of Alta. Burial was In the Newell cemetery. Esther Carstensen, youngsest daughter of Rev . and Mrs. A. Carstensen, was born Aug. 14,1904, near Ord, Ncbraska. At the age of four she moved with the farmily to Storden, Minn., where at the age of 11 she was baptized and joined the Baptist church of Storden. Later she moved with the family to Newell, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. She was graduated from the Newell high school. She was united in marriage on April 7, 1928, to Lyle Jackson of Des Moines. To this union was born one daughter, Janice, now 11 years old. The family lived in Des Moines until April of this year when, because of Illness, Esther came to stay with her sister, Mrs. George Bryant, at Sulphur Springs, on July 20 she was taken to the Swallum hospital at Storm Lake where she passed away Monday morning Aug. 2. Her faith to the future life was as sweet and real a anyone's could be and a good God who loves and understands far beyond anythlng we know in human relationships has now received her. At the time of her death she was a member of the Calvary Baptist church of Des Moines. She was a member of Alpha Theta Sunday school class and for some time until Illness prevented she taught In the intermediate department, of the Sunday school. She leaves behind to mourn her passing: her husband, Lyle N Jackson of Des Moines; her daughter, Janice, four sisters. Mrs. George Bryant, Sulphur Springs, Mrs. Ingvord Jorgensen, Newell, Mrs. Harold Jensen, Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Nels Klbsgaard, Alta; three brothers. Rev. Martin C. Carstensen, Mt. Pleasant, Charles Carstensen, Newell, and Adolph Carstensen, Los Angeles, Calif., and many relatives and friends.
