Iowa on July 13, 1906, departed from us on June 17, 1966 at St. Francis hospital at Mt. View, Mo. at the age of 59 years 11 months and 4 days. On Jan 5, 1937 she was united in marriage to Amel Augustus Allen at Danville, Illinois. He survives. They made their home in Iowa for several years and then moved to Shannon Co. Mo. To this union five children were born. Two sons and three daughters. William Wallace of the house, Amel Augustus Jr. and wife LaRue of Ontario, Ca.; Patricia and husband Charles Thompson of Clever, Mo.; Iris and husband William Mager of Springfield, Mo. Le lla and husband Bill Wilkerson of Everton Mo. She also leaves two grandsons, Larry and Lloyd Thomas, and three granddaughters, Theresa Thompson, Leslee Wilkerson, and Natalie Mager. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. L. Gertrude Griffin of Birch Tree, Mo. brothers, Auther Griffin of Springfield, Mo.; Lawrence Griffin of Birch Tree, Mo. and Alfred Griffin of Des Moines, Iowa. Those preceding her in death were her father and two brothers Paul and Edwin. Also grandparents Simeon and Charity Griffin and Levi and Sarah Shtto. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday June 20 at the Berea Mennonite Cemetery at Birch Tree, Mo. under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Mountain View. Note: Spelling in obituary was not corrected and left as it is in the original.
