Esther's husband Thomas and all of her brothers and brother-in-laws fought on the Union side in the Civil War. Esther's brother John Wesley JACKS died in the War. Esther lived in Gallia/Vinton Co., OH; Hancock Co., IL; Jasper Co., IA; Seward Co., NE; and Kearney Co., NE.
