Description	:	Esther Tieszen, age 90, of Richey, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2005 at the Glendive Medical Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at the Bethlehem Mennonite Church in Bloomfield with Pastor Darrell Nefzger officiating. Interment was in the Bethlehem Mennonite Cemetery in Bloomfield. Esther was born on March 18, 1915 in Dalton, South Dakota, the daughter of Jacob C. and Lena (Ratzlaff) Loewen. Read More	Esther Tieszen, age 90, of Richey, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2005 at the Glendive Medical Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at the Bethlehem Mennonite Church in Bloomfield with Pastor Darrell Nefzger officiating. Interment was in the Bethlehem Mennonite Cemetery in Bloomfield. Esther was born on March 18, 1915 in Dalton, South Dakota, the daughter of Jacob C. and Lena (Ratzlaff) Loewen. She came to the Richey, Montana area with her family in 1917. Esther attended Divide School when there were 40 pupils in a little school room and later attended Victory School. She liked history and other subjects in school. She graduated from eighth grade in 1930 and then had to stay home to help with the chores, like milking the cows. Esther was baptized on October 18 of that same year and became a member of Bethlehem Mennonite Church. Esther married Simon Tieszen on July 18, 1934. Together they lived on the farm and enjoyed the work and distress that goes with it for 69 years until Simon passed away in December of 2003. Esther was a 4-H leader and enjoyed working with the members, she was a member of the Mission Society, and had written news for the Freeman Courier for many years and also the Mennonite Weekly Review. Besides her husband Simon, Esther was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Johnny and Cornelius, and two sisters, Susie and Ida. She is survived by her son, Richard Tieszen and his wife Ellagene of Richey: four grandchildren Martha, Rockcie, Susan and Ricky; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Wackenthien of Willow Lake, South Dakota, Janice Smith of Gillette, Wyoming and Ella Maier of Rapid City, South Dakota and numerous nieces and nephews.
