Description	:	Esther L. Lee DOWNS -- Esther Louise Lee, 90, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at her home. She was born Jan. 17, 1920, on the family farm north of Hunter, the daughter of Emil and Olga (Jahnke) Zemke. Esther attended public schools in Hunter, and taught in several rural schools in the Corinth community prior to her marriage to George L. Lee on Dec. 21, 1941, in the parsonage of the Zion Lutheran Church, Tipton. They made their home on their farm in the Corinth community, south of Downs. She was born Jan. 17, 1920, on the family farm north of Hunter, the daughter of Emil and Olga (Jahnke) Zemke. Esther attended public schools in Hunter, and taught in several rural schools in the Corinth community prior to her marriage to George L. Lee on Dec. 21, 1941, in the parsonage of the Zion Lutheran Church, Tipton. They made their home on their farm in the Corinth community, south of Downs. Four children were born of this union, James Lee (Diana), of Stillwater, Okla., Anita Dangler (Harold), of Naperville, Ill., Kenneth Lee (Jeri), of Downs, and Patricia Williams (Tim), of Albuquerque, N.M. All of her children survive. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Wunder (Bill), of Wichita; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; infant brother, Alton; infant sister, Irene; brothers, Arthur and August; and sisters-in-law, Isabell Zemke and Mary Lee. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Zion Lutheran Church, Downs. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 tonight, Feb. 19, at the church. Final resting place is in the Downs Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established to the Downs Arts Council. Condolences may be left at www.domoneyfuneral home.com. Domoney Funeral Home, 817 Morgan Ave., P.O.
