Description	:	AURORA - Esther Lucille Emken, 91, of Aurora died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora.Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Aurora United Methodist Church with the Rev. Survivors include her sons, Gary of Florida, Ron of Grand Island, Al of Kearney and Dave of Aurora; daughters, Dorothy Minton of Tampa, Fla., Marilyn Lantzer of Minneapolis and Vicki Kunz of Littleton, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include her daughters-in-law, Gloria of Florida, Kathy of Kearney, Jeanne of Aurora and Waunita of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and sons-in-law, Geoff Kunz of Littleton and Sam Echelberger of Longmont, Colo. She grew up in Giltner. She attended school in Giltner and Harvard before graduating from Giltner High School in 1931. She was a substitute teacher after graduation while helping her parents on the farm. She later lived in the home of an elderly couple in Aurora and cared for them. She and her husband farmed near Aurora until 1947, when they moved to a farm near Marquette. In 1951, they moved into Marquette. After the death of her husband, she moved to Aurora and later to Riverside Lodge in Grand Island before returning to Aurora earlier this year. She was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church and the church circles. She was very involved in the school's PTA organization when her children were growing up. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Duane; son, Marvin; daughter, Pat Echelberger; son-in-law, Bob Minton; daughter-in-law, Nancy; brothers, Cecil, Kenneth and Ervin Howland; infant sisters, Helen and Mary; and sister, Lillian Proctor.
