She grew up on a farm north of Lennox, SD and received her education in a country school. Esther was united in marriage with George T. Naatjes on February 21, 1934 in Sibley, IA. The couple made their home on a farm near Lennox for several years before moving into the city of Lennox, SD where they lived for 33 years. Esther was a seamstress for 35 years and made over 200 wedding gowns, and men's suits. She took pride in the fact that she made all the prom dresses for her grandchildren. Esther loved flowers, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Don Naatjes and his wife, Sheryl, Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Nyla Griffith and her husband, Tom, Deadwood, SD, Russell Naatjes and his wife, Judy, Sioux Falls, SD, Heather Burkman and her husband, Dan, Sioux Falls, SD, Jennifer Miller and her husband, Chad, Sioux Falls, SD, Tim Harsh and his wife, Nancy, Sioux Falls,SD, Michelle Haan and her husband, Dave, Lennox, SD, Kristin Lervaag and her husband, Andrew, Anchorage, AK; a son-in-law Raymond Harsh and his wife, Sue, Sioux Falls, SD; 15 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1991; a daughter, Sharon Harsh; five brothers; and five sisters.
