Miss Esther Wilda Harris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Harris, died at her home Northwest of Skidmore last Saturday, July 28, 1923, at the age of 20 years, 9 months and 13 days. Miss Harris had been in poor health for some time, being bedfast for the last 14 months, and was a patient sufferer. She united with the M. E. South church at Skidmore three years ago and was a faithful worker for the Lord. She graduated from the Quitman high school in 1922. Esther Wilda Harris was born near Skidmore, Mo., October 15, 1902, and leaves to mourn with her parents, one sister and brother, Ada and Harry, at the home and Mrs. Lester Lininger of Skidmore. One brother and one sister preceded her to the great Beyond. She also leaves a host of relatives and friends and was loved by all who knew her. Funeral services were held at the M. E. South church Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Trotter in charge and interment was in the Masonic cemetery. The pallbearers were her schoolmates: John Stevens, Pearl Hart, Clinton Beasley, Harry Reed, Ferne Palmer and Earl Sollars. Darling, we will be so lonely. How we'll miss you from your place. But your memory we will cherish, Till we see your Angel face. You ask if we miss her. Yes our hearts are crushed the while, Ere we reach the Golden City, And behold her Heavenly smile."
