Esther attended country school in Cook. She married Melvin Siefkin September 11, 1940. Following his death in 1949, she married Robert Barr on February 15, 1953. Esther and her brother, Ezra, co-owned the John Deere Dealership in Pawnee City for many years. She was a devoted farm wife and mother. After moving to Wymore, she worked at the Good Samaritan Home for several years. She is survived by three children; Delton (Nancy) Barr of Liberty, Marilyn (Kent) Pieper of Farnam, and Roberta Pinkerton of Beatrice. Eleven grandchildren she loved dearly – Jeremy (Elsa) Barr, Robyn (Matt) Fort, Krista Barr, Logan (Olivia) Barr, Connor Barr, Tyler (Heidi) Pieper, Taryn Pieper, Travis Pieper, Adam Pinkerton, Jared Pinkerton, Ryan Pinkerton, and six great-grandchildren; Keldon, Austin, Trevor, Brodie, Kinley, and Addison, 2 brothers; Ezra Rosenthal of Fairbury and Donald (Donita) Rosenthal of Syracuse, along with several nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents; August and Fannie Rosenthal, husbands; Melvin Siefken (June 26, 1949), Robert Barr (August 24, 1992), brothers, Harold and Clarence Rosenthal, sisters-in-law Viola, Esther, and Helen, brother-in-law, Edwin Barr. Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday August 8, 2015 at the Mission Creek Presbyterian Church in Liberty, Nebraska. The visitation will be held Friday, August 7, from 10:00 am - 9:00 pm with family greeting friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore. A private family burial will be held at the Mission Creek Cemetery preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to the Mission Creek Presbyterian Church and the Mission Creek Cemetery with the funeral home in charge.
