They were the parents of Donna and Rose. Nov 23, 1935 - Carroll Daily Herald - Mrs. George Sapp, 26, passed away at 2:45 o'clock this morning in St. Anthony hospital after an illness of six weeks. Mrs. Sapp had been employed in the Sherman bakery until six weeks ago when she became suddenly ill. She was removed to the hospital and had been in a critical condition since. A general run down condition and an infection which worked throughout the system was the cause of her death. Several blood transfusions were given to Mrs. Sapp during her illness. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 o'clock Wednesday morning in the Ss. Peter and Paul church. Rev. Lambert Schenkelberg will read the requiem mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The body was to be brought to the Sapp home on North Clark street some time this afternoon. Mrs. Sapp, who had lived in Carroll since she was 12 years old, was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Woodyard. She was the former Miss Esther Woodyard and was born on Nov. 16, 1909 in Calhoun county, six miles north of Auburn. She attended the Auburn school until her parents moved to Carroll. She completed the tenth grade course in Ss. Peter and Paul school and was graduated from the Carroll high school with the class of 1928. Mrs. Sapp was employed in the F.D. Lewis variety store for several years and later worked in the Woolworth store. She became the bride of George Sapp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Sapp of Carroll, on April 7, 1930 at Sioux City, Ia. The couple had resided in Carroll since their marriage. Mr. Sapp has a position in the Kisgen Cigar store. Mr. and Mrs. Sapp were the parents of two children, Donna Lee and Rose Mary, who with their father and grandparents, survive.
