Read More	Etha Nora Harless 03/20/1914 - 5/11/2005 Etha Nora (Smith) Harless, 91 of Bridgeport, Nebraska left this world on May 11, 2005 at her home. The Celebration of Her Life will be Monday, May 16, 2005 at 10:00 A.M., at the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport with Pastor Darren Stroh officiating. Interment will be at the Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery. Etha was born on March 20, 1914 in Garden Grove, California. One of five children of Osmyn F. and Nora B. (King) Smith, Etha met her future husband at age 12 when she boarded her school bus. Wayne Everett Harless was the driver and they were married seven years later on March 16, 1933 in Chico, California. Etha and Wayne came to Bridgeport soon after to raise wheat and children on the farm 12 miles south of Bridgeport. Royal Harless, the first-born and wife Shirley continue to work the farm. Etha was passionate about her church and her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for 72 years, serving in many capacities; but more important that membership of a church, she was a living example of a truly godly woman to all who knew her. A strong faith constantly sustained her through the many challenges of raising a large family. She loved her weekly Bible study group and her exercise class at the community center. She was active in the Courthouse Rock Extension Club for over 70 years. In addition to Royal (Shirley) Harless, surviving children are sons Glenn (Pat) Harless of Sidney, Williard (Kitty) Harless of Elverta, CA, Lloyd (Linda) Harless of Park Rapids, MN and Daryl (Pat) Harless of Red Bluff, CA; daughters Nancy (Carl) Brown of Lincoln, NE and Debbie (David) Knutson of Trent, SD. Etha leaves a legacy of 22 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. receding her in death were her husband Wayne, daughter Norreta, and grandsons Royal and Luke.
