They had seven children together (per Almina on the 1910 Census). All are linked except for the baby of the family, daughter Cora born circa 1905. I found the family on the 1900 Census, living in Rochester, Fulton Co., Indiana, where Franklin Steffey (Steffee on the record), aged 36, was farming. Almina, aged 34, reported that she had had five children, all of them still living. There with their parents were Ethel, aged 13, Byron, aged 9, Ernie, aged 6, Elsie, aged 3, and Elmer, aged 1. Five years after that census, Ethel married Benjamin Franklin Sriver on 16 Feb 1905 in Rochester, Fulton Co., Indiana. It was a second marriage for Frank (seemed to prefer over Benjanmin). His first wife was Carrie A. Biggs, who had died on 22 Jan 1899 at age 32. Frank brought two children to the marriage--Walter Allen (21 Jan 1890), and Omer (7 Feb 1894). Ethel brought daughter Almina "Mina" Arsana (20 Jun 1902) to the marriage. Ethel would have four children with Frank--an infant daughter (stillborn on 15 Apr 1906), Clifford S. (17 Apr 1908), Merl Franklin (26 Dec 1914), and Phileta Donazetta (15 Oct 1922). I found their blended family on the 1910 Census, living in Akron, Henry Township, Fulton Co., Indiana. Frank Sriner, aged 44, was a farmer. Ethel, aged 24, reported that she had had three children, only two of them still living. There with their parents were Frank's two sons Walter, aged 20 and helping with the farm, and Omer, aged 16, Ethel's daughter Mina, aged 7, and Frank and Ethel's son Clifford, aged 2. The 1920 Census takers caught back up with the family in the same place. Frank, aged 54, was busy with the farm. Ethel, aged 34, was keeping house. There with her were Mina, aged 17, Clifford, aged 11, and Merl, aged 5. Phileta would join the family two years later in the fall. The 1930 Census placed the family in Rochester, Fulton, Indiana. Frank, aged 64, was laboring at odd jobs. Ethel, aged 44, was home with Merl, aged 15, and Phileta, aged 7. Five years after that census, Ethel died on 7 Feb 1935, aged 48. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - (From: Rochester News-Sentinel - Thu 7 Feb 1935) Mrs. Sriver was born in this city May 16, 1886, and resided here all of her life. Her parents were Frank and Almina Steffey. The deceased was married to Frank Sriver in a ceremony which was performed in this city in 1904. She was a member of the United Brethren Church. Survivors are the husband, two sons Merle Sriver, of Franklin, and Clifford Sriver, of Plymouth; daughter Almina Sriver, Hammond, and Eldrith Steffey of this city and a sister, Mrs. Elsie Widdows of Rochester. Rev. Loren Stine, pastor of the United Brethren Church will be in charge of the funeral. The hour of the services had not been determined at the time the News-Sentinel went to press. Rev. Loren Stine will be in charge. Burial will be made in the Citizen's Cemetery.
