Seaton Ethel Alverta Harshman, the daughter of Frank and Lydia Wilson Harshman was born April 15, 1893, near Elmo, in Dickinson County, Kansas and passed away in the Asbury Hospital in Salina, Kansas on January 2, 1964 at the age of 79 years, eight months and 17 days. Seaton Ethel Alverta Harshman, the daughter of Frank and Lydia Wilson Harshman was born April 15, 1893, near Elmo, in Dickinson County, Kansas and passed away in the Asbury Hospital in Salina, Kansas on January 2, 1964 at the age of 79 years, eight months and 17 days. A life long resident of Dickinson County she attended Abilene high school and grew to womanhood in the Acme community. She was united in marriage with Robert L. Seaton, December 20, 1911 and to this union five children were born, three sons and two daughters. Early in life she accepted Christ as her Savior and united in fellowship with the Abilene Christian church where she served faithfully in the activities of the Church until her death. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 111. A loving wife and mother, she is survived by her husband, three sons, Deane R. Seaton, Iola, Kansas, Ryland L. Seaton, Denver, Colo., and Dr. Vaughn A. Seaton, Ames, Iowa. Two daughters, Mrs. Max Fitzwater, Abilene, Kansas and Mrs. Quinton Budd, Arkansas City, Kansas. Two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Guthals, Springfield, Mo., and Mrs. Arthur Steffen, Chapman, Kansas. Seven grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Funeral services were held January 5, 1964 at 2:30 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Barnes officiating. The O.E.S. Chapter 111 assisted in the services. Music was furnished by Mrs. Charles Kiekel who sang "God Understands" and "Shadows". She was accompanied by Mrs. Walter Mustard at the organ. Burial was in the Abilene cemetery with G.P. Smith, Lawrence Bourbina, Leon Kennedy, Frank Houlton, Harry Hawk and Tom Davis serving as pallbearers.
