Miles received word Saturday morning of the death of her sister, Mrs. Ethel Sears Young, 61, of Brooklyn, N.Y., after a lingering illness, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Norman Scully of Elizabeth, N.J. Mrs. Young was born on Maple Street, in the house now occupied by Mrs. Eugenie Grechan on April 6, 1878, the daughter of Henry P. and Martha Sears. She was a descendant of Rev. Miles received word Saturday morning of the death of her sister, Mrs. Ethel Sears Young, 61, of Brooklyn, N.Y., after a lingering illness, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Norman Scully of Elizabeth, N.J. Mrs. Young was born on Maple Street, in the house now occupied by Mrs. Eugenie Grechan on April 6, 1878, the daughter of Henry P. and Martha Sears. She was a descendant of Rev. John Leland, Peru pastor. She lived in Hinsdale until 1885 when she went with her family to Holyoke. She was employed for many years by the Brooklyn Edison Co. Mrs. Young married Platt Young in Holyoke in 1900. He died several years ago. The funeral will be held in Elizabeth Monday night. Burial will be in the family plot in Maple Cemetery Tuesday. Rev. Samuel Ross Swift will conduct the commitment service at the grave at 2 o'clock. Survivors are the daughter, Mrs. Scully, another daughter, Mrs. Daniel P. Higgins Jr. of Elizabeth, N.J.; a son, Richard Sears Young of Cranford, N.J.; two sisters, Mrs. John A. DeCamp of Utica, N.Y., and Mrs. Edwin B. Miles of Maple Street, Hinsdale. Mrs. DeCampt will arrive at the home of Mrs. Miles this afternoon to remain until after the burial.
