Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Arline Brink of Rock Island, Ill., the third person to die as the result of the collision of a car and truck in Davenport Saturday evening, December, were conducted at the Burnett funeral home in Keosauqua at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon by the Rev. C.H. Orf. Burial was at the Pittsburg cemetery. Mrs. Brink, who was 31 years old, formerly was employed in Keosauqua. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Rhoades of Keosauqua; two sisters, Mrs. Grover Cole of Keosauqua and Mrs. Marguerite Wright of Birmingham, and two brothers, Edward Rhoades of Ottumwa and Lois Rhoades of Keosauqua. Arthur Thomas, 51, and son Clarence, 34, were killed in the accident which proved fatal to Mrs. Brink. All were passengers in a car by Harry Thomas son of Arthur Thomas. The Thomas car crashed into a parked truck in Davenport. The Thomas family formerly lived at Bentonsport. Funeral services for Arthur Thomas and Clarence Thomas were held at Fairfield December 23. Genealogical Society Obituary Book F, Page 199, Keosauqua Public Library, Keosauqua, IA ETHEL ARLENE BRINK Ethel Arlene Brink, daughter of George and Myrtle Rhoades, was born in Pretty Prairie, Kansas, August 29, 1910, and passed away at the Mercy hospital in Davenport, Iowa, December 23, 1941, aged 31 years, 3 months and 25 days. Most of her life was spent in Ottumwa, Iowa, where she attended the Ottumwa schools and the Presbyterian church and Sunday school. On July 30, 1937 she was united in marriage to Morris Brink. Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by two brothers, Edward at home, and Louis of Ottumwa, Iowa, and two sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Wright of Birmingham and Mrs. Grover Cole of Bentonsport, Iowa, together with a number of other relatives and a host of friends. Three sisters and one brother preceded her in death. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. C.H. Orf, were held from the Burnett Funeral home in Keosauqua, Iowa, Friday afternoon, December 26, 1941.
