Road, Eggleston, departed this life Saturday morning at her home in the care of Carilion Hospice and her family members John, Kathy, Allen, and Cody. Born at Sugar Run, Giles County, on March 31, 1925 she was a daughter of the late John Arnold and Ethel Morris Stanley. Banie was retired from the Celanese Plant at Narrows with 44 yrs. Service and was a member of Mt. View United Methodist Church near her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Daniel Dowdy, her step-daughter Linda Dowdy, and her sisters Lucille Eaton and Nancy Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons and daughters-in-law Jeff and Bertha Stanley of Bluefield, WV, John Arland and Kathy Stanley of Eggleston and Michael and Cathy Stanley of Bluefield, WV; her daughter Hallie Kay and Will Davis of Eggleston; her step-children and spouses Harold and Anna Dowdy of Clarksville, TN, Allen Dowdy of the home; Brenda Williams of Pembroke, Jeanie and Charles Steele of Eggleston; her twelve grandchildren, her seventeen great-grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law J B and Phyllis Stanley of Dublin; her sisters and brother-in-law Alma Stump of Dublin, Sarah and Carl Neel of Zenith, WV, and her long-time special friend Mary Stevers. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 until 8 pm.
