The operation was preformed, but Mrs. Crawford failed to recover. Mrs. Crawford, is survived by four daughters; Bertha Mae, Virginia Lee, Margaret Jean and Patricia Ann; two sons, Harvard Jr. and Trent; one brother,two sisters and a half brother to mourn her loss. Ethel Beatrice Rainwater was born November 5, 1902, at Des Moines, Iowa. In early childhood she moved with her parents (Barney & Ida Rainwater) to Nebraska, and grew to womanhood in Lincoln and Omaha, NE. On September 8, 1919, she was united in marriage at Grand Island to Harvard R. Crawford, and to this union were born six children, who with the husband mourn her loss. She was a member of the United Brethren Church at Kearney, NE. A devoted wife and mother, she will be missed by a great number of friends. Funeral services were held from the home Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Joseph Stopford, and interment was in Gothenburg Cemetery. The Misses Weidner furnished music, singing two duets.
