Read More	The Malvern Leader 27 January 1966 Services Sunday at Wesley Chapel for Mrs. Parker Death took a woman who had filled a position of leadership in her community for many years last week when Mrs. Clinton Parker died at her home Wednesday night. Mrs. Parker had lived in the Wesley Chapel community since she and her husband established their home there in 1919. She had participated widely in the community's activities, and had served as news correspondent for The Leader for 17 years, and enjoyed a wide circle of friends. The Rev. C. M. Rowe conducted the services and music was furnished by Dr. Jack Fickel of Red Oak, who was accompanied by Mrs. Ward Fickel. Allen Palmer, Donald Godfrey, Joe Robbins, Ned Turner, Ben Wilson and Jay Winslow served as pall bearers. Caring for the flowers were Mrs. Henry Washburn, Mrs. Claude Holt, Mrs. Ray Lathrop, Mrs. Clifford Allely, Mrs. Ray Plumb and Mrs. Ned Turner. Mrs. Marion Wilson cared for the registry book, Leon Weigman and Russell Asell were car attendants and Lorance Lisle and Eric Nyren were ushers. The Rev. Mr. Rowe read the following life sketch: Ethel Frame Parker was born in Denver, Colo., Sept. 14, 1896, the daughter of David and Mary Kortz Frame. Her death occurred Jan. 19, 1966, at the age of 69 years, four months and five days. She attended the public schools of Denver, Colo., and received her degree from Iowa State college. Ethel taught in the Monmouth, Ia., high school for two years while waiting for Clinton Parker to return from the military service of World War I. She had met him when they were students attending Iowa State college. They were united in marriage on March 8, 1919, and to this union three sons were born, Clinton Arthur, Kenneth Walter and Donald George. Ethel joined the Methodist church at an early age in Denver. She has been a faithful and a working member in all the departments of the Wesley Chapel Methodist church, serving as teacher and superintendent of the Sunday school for many years, and was a charter member of Womens Society of Christian Service. She leaves an influential impact that will be felt and remembered for some time. Ethel's influence extended beyond her immediate community. Her many activities reflected her parsonality through membership and official positions in the Mills county girls 4-H club, Mills county Federated Women's clubs, Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary. She was county chairman of the girls 4-H club for four years and willingly assisted in the boys 4-H club work, showing a keen interest in the development of teenage boys, as only a devoted mother would do. She helped to organize the first Womans Extension Service in Mills county, was made an honorary life member of the Mills county girls 4-H club, was appointed the district religious chairmen of the Federated Womans club and in 1948 was named the Mills county Homemaker of the Year. She was near her 50 year membership in the Order of the Eastern Star of which she was a Past Worthy Matron. Throughout her life she endeavored to exemplify the teachings of the O. E. S. Her interests centered mostly in her family and home. When a bride she came with her husband to the Parker farm, overlooking the beautiful valley of the Nishna, in the Wesley Chapel neighborhood. Neighbors and friends, young and old, were always welcome there. After the loss of that home by fire four years ago, Ethel and Clinton devoted many hours beautifying their new residence. Her love for flowers made her home a picture as beautiful as any artist could paint and was enjoyed by all who were passing by. In her busy life she never failed to have the time to help her friends and neighbors. She found great joy in giving. One of Ethel's mottos was "to always do and say the kindest things in the kindest way." Preceding her in death were her father when she was only four years of age, her mother adn three sisters. She is survived by her husband, Clinton, her sons, Dlinton A., Agar, S. D., Kenneth W., Portland, Ore., Donald, Tipton, Ia.; seven grandchildren, Jo Ann, Daniel, Gary, Leslie, James, Kathryn and Douglas; a brother, Arthur Frame, of Birmingham, Ala.; other relatives and many many friends. Interment was in the Wesley Chapel cemetery with Mansfield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
