Description	:	Little Ethel Gilkerson, twelve year old daughter and eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. John Gilkerson, died at the family residence Sunday last, after an illness of two months. Read More	Little Ethel Gilkerson, twelve year old daughter and eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. John Gilkerson, died at the family residence Sunday last, after an illness of two months. The little girl had suffered for many weeks and death came as a relief to her nearly spent energies though bringing great grief to her parents, her brothers and relatives and friends who had earnestly hoped for the child's recovery even when the physicians seemed most disheartened. Ethel was stricken with abscess of the liver in September last and it is thought the cause was a fall which she received some time before. Every effort was made to alleviate pain and obtain control of the disease, but to no avail. Some weeks ago Dr. Keyte, osteopathist, took charge of the case and for a time recovery seemed possible, but again Ethel's condition took a turn for the worse and death had been expected for some days. She was the pride of her parents, had always been helpful in home duties, even though so young and had largely contributed to her parents' happiness. Always bright, willing, cheerful, her sunshiny manner and never tiring hands will be sadly missed. Yesterday at 11 a.m. funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian church and the remains laid to their last rest, many sorrowful friends accompanying the relatives in the sad duty. A large delegation of Knights of Pythias attended the funeral, Mr. Gilkerson being a prominent member of the order.
