Description	:	Ethel I. Janitscheck, 90, of Pleasanton died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at Ravenna Good Samaritan Center. Ethel was born June 10, 1921, in Pleasanton to George and Clara (Johnson) Moberg. On March 24, 1948, she married Cecil S. Janitscheck in North Platte. He preceded her in death. On March 24, 1948, she married Cecil S. Janitscheck in North Platte. He preceded her in death. Survivors are: daughters, Sharon Blue and her husband, Cary, of Shelton and Susan Riessland and her husband, Bryce, and Janece Ripp and her husband, Don, all of Pleasanton; sons, Dale Janitscheck of Hastings and Larry Janitscheck and his wife, Lisa, of Pleasanton; grandchildren and spouses, Julie Miller of Osborne, Kan., Sandra and Terry Redetzke of Ellis, Kan., LeAnn and Damion Dix of Stockton, Kan., Kyle Janitscheck of Grand Island, Abby Riessland of Omaha, Angela and Seth Kucera, Drew Janitscheck, Alyssa Janitscheck, Colin Janitscheck and Adam Ripp, all of Pleasanton, Jared Riessland of Omaha, Melissa Ripp of Parker, Colo., and Kevin Ripp of Kearney; and great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Kade Miller, Grace, Sydney and Carter Redetzke, Olivia and Ava Dix, Caleb Mattos and Evan and Maylee Kucera. Ethel graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1938. She then earned her teaching certificate from Kearney Normal School. Ethel taught in rural schools for four years and then moved to North Platte to teach for four more. Ethel and Cecil moved west of Pleasanton where she helped her husband raise livestock and farm. Ethel also worked as a seamstress from 1970 to 1983. They moved into Pleasanton in 1980 and retired in 1983. She moved to Kearney in 2010. Ethel was an active member of Pleasanton United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women and served as president of Pleasanton American Legion Auxiliary Post 321. She loved spending time with grandchildren, especially when they would spend the weekends at her house. Ethel enjoyed volunteering at the church and the Pleasanton school library. She also enjoyed reading, embroidery, playing cards with friends and spending time in her vegetable and flower gardens. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charlie, Lawrence, Harold and Francis Moberg; sisters, Malay Moberg and Ella Boetel; and son-in-law, John Smith. Burial was in the Pleasanton Cemetery, Pleasanton, NE. Published in Kearney Hub on November 7, 2011
