Born in Giles County on April 4, 1922 she was a daughter of the late Charles and Nannie Haskett Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Snider, whom she married on July 16, 1966, three daughters Carolyn Jo Gray, Frieda Grigsby, Patricia Dunford , one son Jack Dunford and two sisters and two brothers. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons Harvey and Leda Jo Dunford of Pembroke and Clinton (Andi) Snider and Randy Lindholm of Roanoke; one daughter Linda (William) Sweeney of Moneta; three brothers Bobby and Mary Jane Austin of Dublin, Billy and Nancy Austin of Roanoke, Lee and Thelma Austin of Pearisburg; one sister Joann Riddle of Pearisburg and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of friends and other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park at Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the services.
