Description	:	HOLCOMB, Ethel May - Ethel May, daughter of Calvin and Maggie E. Holcomb, was born in Washington County, Ark. Oct. 23, 1880 at the home of her parents near Springdale. She was very much devoted to her home, having spent her entire life at the place of her birth. Her health began to fail seriously in March 1909, first with lagrippe which finally led to lung trouble. She bore her sufferings very patiently, expressing a prefect readiness and willingness to die, feeling satisfied she would go to a "Home in Glory." She remained a loved and devoted member, always filling... Read More	HOLCOMB, Ethel May - Ethel May, daughter of Calvin and Maggie E. Holcomb, was born in Washington County, Ark. Oct. 23, 1880 at the home of her parents near Springdale. She was very much devoted to her home, having spent her entire life at the place of her birth. Her health began to fail seriously in March 1909, first with lagrippe which finally led to lung trouble. She bore her sufferings very patiently, expressing a prefect readiness and willingness to die, feeling satisfied she would go to a "Home in Glory." She remained a loved and devoted member, always filling her seat when her health permitted. She leaves father and mother, one sister and five brothers, all of whom were present at the funeral, also a host of relatives and friends to mourn her departure. She passed from her home here to her home eternal Jan. 8, 1910. Funeral services were held at Ebenezer Church at Oak Grove Sunday, Jan. 9 at 11 a.m., conducted by Eld. J.S. Cowan, after which the remains were laid to rest in Bluff Cemetery, Springdale, to await the resurrection morn. [The Springdale News - Springdale, Washington County, Arkansas - January 14, 1910] Mrs. Ellen Nichols of Blue Jacket, OK. came in Sunday morning, being called here by the death of her sister, Miss Ethel Holcomb. Mr. and Mrs. James Holcomb also came up from Fayetteville for the funeral, the former being a brother of the deceased. This is the first death that has occurred in the family of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Holcomb since their marriage and they have the sincere sympathy of a host of friends in their bereavement.
