She was born Nov. 26, 1915, in Surry County to Joseph W. and Eunice Danley Wall. Mrs. Whitaker was a homemaker and member of Old Siloam Friends Church. Read More	SILOAM, NC ~ Mrs. Ethel Minnie Wall Whitaker, 88, of Quaker Church Road in Siloam passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Northern Surry Hospital. She was born Nov. 26, 1915, in Surry County to Joseph W. and Eunice Danley Wall. Mrs. Whitaker was a homemaker and member of Old Siloam Friends Church. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Palmer and Molly Whitaker of Siloam and Thomas and Cynthia Whitaker of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Irene Whitaker of the home and Bonnie Ashburn of Siloam; two sisters, Lucy Key of Ararat and Evelyn Cranfill of Yadkinville; three sisters-in-law, Gertrude Wall of Pinnacle, Mary Key of Thomasville and Myrtle Wall of Siloam; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Whitaker was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert William Whitaker and her parents. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 12, at Old Siloam Friends Church, with Pastor Lemuel Sprinkle, the Rev. Ray Beck and the Rev. Clayton Tilley officiating. Interment will follow in Old Siloam Friends Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, March 11, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home and other times in the home of Mrs. Whitaker's daughter, Bonnie Ashburn, 113 Blaze Trail, Siloam, NC 27047. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Old Siloam Friends Building Fund, c/o Randy Lineberry, 284 Border Lane, Pinnacle, NC 27043 or Northern Hospice, 161 Kodiak Lane, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
