Read More	Ethel Verna Bohlender Jan 25, 1925 – Dec 16, 2014 Ethel Verna Bohlender passed away peacefully at the Wetaskiwin Long Term Care Facility on December 16, 2014, at the age of 89 years. Ethel Verna Bohlender was born on January 25, 1925 in Rimbey. Since there was no hospital in Rimbey at the time, Ethel was born at a local residence kept by Mrs. Florence Simpson which was used for hospital purposes. Ethel’s parents were Lewis & Lucy Robinson; she had two sisters and two brothers, the sisters were Viola & Evelyn and the brothers names were Archie & Lester. Ethel was raised in the Leedale district and took her schooling at Leedale. Ethel and Rudy were married June 1, 1945. They farmed the Bohlender farm for 4 years. After that they made various moves but all the Bohlender kids were born in Rimbey. In 1959 Rudy operated the cement plant for Harold Wild. In 1968 Rudy started working for Flint Engineering at the Rimbey gas plant he worked there until 1980 when he retired for health reasons. Mom always supported Rudy and always welcomed many of people to our home where she graciously entertained them. Ethel was blessed with 5 daughters: Gloria, Phyllis, Geraldine, Wanietta, & Darlene. She was not one to give up, she then gave birth to her favorite and I might, add only son Darrel. Gloria married Carl Jevne, Phyllis married Dallas Bennett, Geraldine married Jerry Thompson, Wanietta married Victor Schwieger, Darlene married Ken Horutko, and Darrel married Bev Johnson. Ethel is survived by 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Ethel’s love of her life Rudy passed away on May 09, 1980 at the age of 62 years old. Mom resided in Rimbey where she was close enough to her family to come visit. She also very much enjoyed bingo and was well known on the bingo circuit, she also liked disking, bowling, shuffleboard, gardening and visiting at the local Rimbey Drop-In Centre. Mom will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends. The service for Ethel Verna Bohlender will be held at the Rimbey United Church on Monday December 22, 2014 @ 11:00 am. Deborah Laing Minister of the Rimbey United Church will be officiating. Ethel will be buried at a later date at the Mt. Auburn cemetery in Rimbey. Charitable donations may be made in Ethel’s memory to an organization of your choice.
