Ethyle E., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Epley, was born June 27, 1901, near Elk Creek, Nebr., and moved with her parents at the age of two to a farm near Nora, Nebr. Batchelder, passed away early Saturday morning, March 13, in the Dickenson (sic) County Memorial hospital (sic) at Abilene, Kan. Ethyle E., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Epley, was born June 27, 1901, near Elk Creek, Nebr., and moved with her parents at the age of two to a farm near Nora, Nebr. She graduated from Nelson high school and attended Lincoln Business College. Later she moved with her parents to Superior where she was employed by the Zona Berg Music Co. She was united in marriage with Gerald L. Batchelder June 17, 1924. To this union were born two sons, Jerry and John. In 1928, they moved to Abilene, Kan., to make their home. Ethyle was a devoted wife and companion, and a wonderful mother. Her friendly personality won her many friends. Her love for beauty was shown in the beautiful new home she lived to enjoy only a short time. Because of her love for flowers and trees, the song "Trees" was played by special request during the services. She was a member of the Presbyterian church, Eastern Star, the Chiropractic Association Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. A brother, Albert, preceded her in death a number of years ago. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, and two sons, Jerry and John of the home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George F. Epley of Nora; one sister, Mrs. Mary Vandeveer of Superior, and other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held from the Abilene Presbyterian church (sic) Monday afternoon, March 15, at 2:30, with Dr. David Townly, pastor in charge, assisted by Dr. Howard J. Kelly of Topeka.
