Read More	DEATH OF ESTEEMED LADY OCCURRED FRIDAY EVENING The death of Mrs. H.N.Appleby which occurred at her home in Hopkinton on Friday evening, July 11, was learned with much sorrow by a wide circle of friends. While Mrs. Appleby had not been in good health for some months there was nothing to cause apprehension of her sudden passing. A partial stroke of paralysis scarcely a week before, followed by complications, hastened the end. The large attendance at the funeral held on Sunday afternoon, Rev. Geo. Self of the M.E.Church officiating, came from far and near to pay their last tribute to her, the church being crowded to its capacity and many being unable to gain admittance to the service. She was ever known as warm-hearted, sacrificing, always ready to help a friend and neighbor in distress and these qualities endeared her among a wide acquaintance. Etta A. Chapman was born Sept. 14, 1867, in St. Joseph, MI, her age therefore being 56 years, 10 mo. and 5 days. When a small child she came with her parents to Monticello, where she grew to womanhood and where she was married to Harrison N. Appleby on May 15, 1889. To this union seven children were born, two of whom died in infancy. The surviving children are Cortland and Walter Appleby of near Delhi; Lester of Buck Creek, Elmer and Harold. These with the grief-stricken husband mourn the passing of a loving wife and mother. Deceased also is survived by 4 brothers and 3 sisters--Walter and Albert Chapman of Monticello, Nathaniel and Cortland Chapman of Coggon; Mrs. Lydia McVay of Sand Springs; Mrs. Rose Neilson of Kadoka, SD and Cornelia of Casper, WY. The body was conveyed to Monticello for interment beside the children who have passed.
