Miller. With her husband, in March, 1891, she came to Milford where she resided until her death. A short service was held at the house Friday afternoon, conducted by Key. A. L. Weatherly, pastor of the Congregational church. Since her residence in Milford Mrs. Miller has made hosts of friends, being a lady of culture and refinement and her sudden, death will be felt by the entire community. A large delegation of Live Oak Camp, No. 2567, Modern Woodmen, of which order Mr. Miller is an honored member, were present at the services here. The Camp also escorted the remains to the depot where shipment was made. About three weeks ago Mr. Miller was called to the southern part of the state to be present at the burial of his father, and now, with scarce a moment's warning, his young and loving wife, in the full bloom of womanhood was torn from his arms by the fell destroyer. He has the deepest and most sincere sympathy of all his man friends in this hour of trial and sorrow. "Here, cold in death, doth calmly lie As much of beauty as could die. Which, when alive, did vigor give To as much virtue as could live." The funeral occurred at Volga City, Iowa, on Sunday under the auspices of the Modern Woodmen of that place, Rev. L. S. Cooley conducted the services. CARD OF THANKS. R. E. Donaldson returned from Volga City Tuesday morning, where he went delegated by the Modern Woodmen here, to act as counselor and comforter to their bereaved neighbor, in this, his great sorrow. Rube authorized us to express the heartfelt thanks of all the bereaved friends and relatives of the deceased, to the many friends here, who so kindly assisted in caring for and administrating to the wants of their beloved. RESOLUTIONS WHEREAS: The All-wise ruler of the universe has seen fit to call to her everlasting home Elta L. Miller, be it. RESOLVED: That we, the members of Live Oak Camp, No. 2567, Modern Woodmen of America, hereby extend our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to our bereaved neighbor in this sad hour of affliction, and be it further. RESOLVED: That a copy of these Resolutions be spread upon the minutes of the Camp, one presented to the Milford Mail for publication and also a copy presented to our sorrowing neighbor. Committee: Q.
