He was born April 22, 1991, in Pleasantvale, Ill, to Henry and Anna Davis Ancell. He married Betty Marie Porter May 18, 1940. She died March 13, 1982. He later married Clara Hedrick April ll, 1985. He is survived by his wife, Clara; four sons, Charles E., Richard W. and Donald L. of Ottumwa and Ted M. of Jackson, Ga.; three stepsons, Richard and Steve Eastwood of Ottumwa and Darrell Eastwood of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; three daughters, Margaret Hartley and Joanna A. Eakins of Ottumwa and Dianne M. Johnston of Des Moines; six stepdaughters, Linda Throgmartin, Carolyn Morey, Nancy Receveur, Janice Tubb and Phylis Anderson of Ottumwa and Karen Cameron of Norway, Iowa.; 17 grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; and two brothers, John D. Ancell of Ottumwa and Charles Franklin Ancell of Quincy, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James A. at birth; four sisters; and a brother. The service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Shrine of Memories Funeral Home in Ottumwa, the Revs. George King of Evangelistic Foursquare Church and Thietje Hunt of First Church of the Open Bible officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. today. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Brent and Brian Ancell, Jeff Johnston, Tom Anderson, Lyle Cameron, David Ancell, Frank Hartley and Ken Williams. Memorials may be made to his church.
