Description	:	Eugene “Gene” Dressler, 82, of Beulah, ND went to be with the Lord after a long battle with Leukemia on Friday, November 13, 2015 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Gene was born on June 16, 1933 at his home south of Halliday, ND to Phillip and Magdalena (Kuhn) Dressler. Read More	Eugene “Gene” Dressler, 82, of Beulah, ND went to be with the Lord after a long battle with Leukemia on Friday, November 13, 2015 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Gene was born on June 16, 1933 at his home south of Halliday, ND to Phillip and Magdalena (Kuhn) Dressler. He was raised on the farm and attended school at the Abbey in Richardton, ND until the priests decided he could be of better help to his family by working on the farm, as he didn’t enjoy doing his schoolwork. On October 12, 1953, Gene married Betty Ziegler at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, south of Dodge, ND. The couple made their home in Halliday where three children were added to their union, Sandy, Butch and Cindy. Gene worked as a blade operator for the county while the family lived in Halliday. In 1965, Gene moved his family to Leadville, CO where he worked in the underground molybdenum mine for five year. From there, the family moved to Tuscon, AZ where Gene worked at the copper mines. Sometime later, Gene and his family moved back to Dickinson, ND where Gene was employed with Hershrude Equipment, moving farm equipment. Following his employment in Dickinson, Gene went back to mining for uranium mines in Wyoming for several years before returning to North Dakota. He then worked as a custodian for Halliday Public schools and Beulah Public schools, from which he retired. Gene enjoyed spending time with his family. He was such a handy man and could fix anything. Gene also loved to watch old westerns and rodeos. Gene is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty of Beulah; two daughters, Sandra Dressler and Cindy (Mike Fenten) Pickett, all of Beulah; one son, Randy (Peggy) Dressler of Halliday; four grandchildren, Casey (Millissa), Cori, Kyleen and Trevor (Becky); five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, Brayden, Taten and Adyson; two sisters, Betty (Wally) Wald of Dickinson and Ramona Larsen of CA; four brothers-in-law, Archie (LaVerne) Ziegler of Dickinson, Larry (Caroline) Ziegler of Bismarck, Rick (Thelma) Ziegler of TX, Wayne (Karen) Ziegler of CA; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Dahms of IA and Margie Kivelvang of Detroit Lakes, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Bill Pickett; one brother, Nick Dressler; three sisters-in-law, Francis Dressler, Lena Dressler and Netty (Bob) Radke; and one nephew, Russell Dressler. Dad, we are going to miss you so much. There will be no more suffering for you, Papa, you are in a beautiful place with the Lord. We will see you again on the other side when it is our time.
