Description	:	Eugene Hawley was born October 23, 1921, in Deuel County, South Dakota. He was the son of Herbert and Mabel (Pollard) Hawley. He died on Saturday, July 1, 1995, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 73 years. Eugene received his education in Estelline School and graduated in 1941. He served in the United States Navy from 1942 until 1947. After serving in the military he returned to the farm that his grandparents homesteaded in 1889. He was united in marriage to Marie A.
