Gene died Monday, March 12, 2012 at Golden Living Center, Norfolk. Gene was born May 26, 1930 on the family farm at Meadow Grove, NE, to Edwin and Mary (Eyl) Tegeler. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church at Battle Creek. Gene attended rural school in the Meadow Grove area. He Farmed South of Battle Creek until 1962, when he and his brother Ervin bought Teg's Keg in Battle Creek. He owned and operated the bar until 1994, when he retired in Battle Creek. Gene was an avid fisherman, gardener and a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, Battle Creek. He is survived by 2 brothers, Ervin (Verona) Tegeler of Battle Creek, Richard (Carolee) Tegeler of Norfolk, 3 sisters, Ruth Bierman of Battle Creek, Alice (Lonn) Bottorff of Norfolk, Jo Ann (Kenneth) Boyer of Norfolk and many nieces and nephews. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers Marvin, Kenneth, Donald and a brother in infancy.
