Hendrickson was walking south on the highway in front of Van Skike's Service Station, when he was struck by two cars. The first knocked him into the roadway and the second ran over him, crushing his chest. Neither car stopped. Witnesses to the accident summoned the city police and the sheriff. Hendrickson was taken to the hospital in an ambulance and died without regaining consciousness. An investigation of the accident is being made by District Attorney, Gordon Allott, who has requested a coroner's inquest. The inquest, he said will be held tomorrow, as soon as the present investigation is completed. Hendrickson had recently purchased the Trail Cafe on North Santa Fe Trail and had planned to move to Lamar to take over the business. He was born February 28, 1917, in Bristol and has lived in this vicinity all his life. He received his discharge recently after serving in the army during World War II. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Hendrickson of Bristol, four brothers and two sisters. Brothers are Donovan Hendrickson, of Las Animas, Cecil Hendrickson, of Lamar, and Paul and Karl Hendrickson of Bristol. Sisters are Mrs. Glen Zilliox, of Lamar, and Mrs. W.R. Gibbons of Elkhart, Kans. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the United Presbyterian Church in Bristol. The Rev. R.A. Edson officiating. Burial will be in Bristol cemetery. Kirkpatrick-Duggan Mortuary is in charge.
