Description	:	Eugene Overton, 73, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at his home in Garden City. He was born Sept. 19, 1939, in Syracuse, to Thomas and Aurel Thornburg Overton. A fifth-generation cattleman, Mr. Overton was a cattle reporter for USDA. He served one term on the State Water Board, was president of the Moose Lodge and of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, was manager of Little League and was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at the University of Northern Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janice Cole. A private family service will take place at a later date. There will be no visitation.
