Description	:	Eugene “Gene” Dixon, husband, father, brother and grandfather, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019. Born in 1928, he graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1947, and from Washington State College (now WSU) in 1957. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in October 1950, and served for two years, stationed in Japan. He married Sharon Yochum on May 5, 1956, and they moved to Uniontown in 1957. Read More	Eugene “Gene” Dixon, husband, father, brother and grandfather, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019. Born in 1928, he graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1947, and from Washington State College (now WSU) in 1957. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in October 1950, and served for two years, stationed in Japan. He married Sharon Yochum on May 5, 1956, and they moved to Uniontown in 1957. After working for the Uniontown Cooperative Association for 36 years, he retired as manager in 1993. Retirement allowed him to focus on his lifelong love of photography. He was a long-standing member of American Legion Post 214, and the St. Boniface Knights of Columbus, and volunteered for many events and organization in town. Survivors names omitted per findagrave policy. He was preceded in death by his son, Noel Dixon; parents Clayton and Helena Dixon; sister Sally Dixon Burnett; stepmother Brenda Dixon and stepbrother Don Burnett Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2019, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Uniontown. Luncheon will follow at the Artisans at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Endowment Fund.
