Description	:	Services for Mrs. Eugenia A. Gengerke, 93, a resident of Colonial Manor at Groton were held Thursday, Nov. 29, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Groton with the Rev. Monte W. Gusewelle officiating. The organist at the service was Mrs. Eugene Neuman and the soloist was David Sueltz. There was also congregational singing. Burial was in the Groton Union Cemetery with the Miller-Huebl Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Gengerke died Monday, Nov. 26, at Dakota Midland Hospital in Aberdeen. Eugenia A. Lorenz was born July 3, 1886 to Gustave and Mary Adler Lorenz at James, S.D. She attended rural school in that area and married Charles Gengerke June 19, 1902, in the James area. The couple farmed north of Groton until 1943 when they moved into Groton. Following her husband's death she returned to the family farm to live with her son. She had resided at the manor in Groton since 1977. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Ladies Aid. Survivors include one son, Marvin, of Groton; two brothers, Bernhard Lorenz and Albert Lorenz, both of Groton; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1946, one daughter, one brother and two sisters.
