Michel, age 75, who for ten years had been an invalid, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Maier, near Alburnett, where she had made her home for three years, Sunday at 4 p.m. As Eugenia Munier she was born at Leavenworth, Kan., Oct. 28, 1857. She came to Iowa with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Munier, in a covered wagon, settling north of Marion. When she was nine years old she went to live with an aunt at Dubuque, where she received her education. Early in life she joined the Presbyterian church. She returned to Linn county at the age of 16 and kept house for her father until her marriage to J.B. Michel Feb. 19, 1878. All their married the was spent in Linn county with the exception of two years when they resided at Humbolt. Five children were born to them: Emma, Ida, Laura, who died in infancy, Josephine, who died May 16, 1906, Wilbur, who died Dec. 9, 1928. Mr. Michel died July 28, 1921. Mrs. Michel is survived by the two daughters, Mrs. J.M. Albright, Marion, Mrs. Charles Maier, near Alburnett; four grandchildren, Leo and Alfred Voss of Marion and Josephine and Genevieve Maier of near Alburnett; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Metcalf, of near Marion; two half sisters, Mrs. Albert Levasseur of St. Louis and Miss Lucy Munier of Marion, and one half brother, George Munier of Marion. Private funeral services will be held at the Charles Maier home near Alburnett Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Rev. W.E. Fisher, pastor of the Presbyterian church, will be in charge. Burial will be in the family lot in Oak Shade cemetery. The family requests that no flowers be sent. Friends may call at the Charles Maier home Tuesday between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m.
