Description	:	Eunice Pillard age 78, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at her home following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be held 10:30 Saturday morning, March 11, 2017 at the First Congregational Church, Anamosa. Interment will be in the Cass Center Cemetery. Rev. Greg Griffin will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 until 7 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa. Memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David and a son Jason. Eunice Estella Armon was born October 10, 1938 at Ely, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Estella Dostal, Armon. Eunicce graduated from Wilson High School in Cedar Rapids with the class of 1955. She continued her education at the University of Iowa. Eunice Armon and David L. Pillard were married October 17, 1959 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Anamosa. The couple farmed the Pillard Family Farm north of Anamosa. Eunice was a very accomplished seamstress. She made many wedding, bridesmaid and prom gowns. She also worked for Max Fayram at the Kleenall in Anamosa and later at Von Maur, in Cedar Rapids, as a seamstress. Eunice was an active member of the First Congragational Church. Eunice was a Master Gardener and spent many hours tending her flowers. She also belonged to a bowling group, a crochet, knitting and quilting group, and had belonged to Wapsi Country Club and a neighborhood card club. The most important activity for Eunice was attending all of her grandchildren’s sporting and school events. She had just recently traveled to Omaha to watch her grandson, Abrahm swim in the Olympic Trials. Obituary & photo published by Goettsch Funeral Home
