Description	:	Eunice Jordan, of Waterville, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and life-long Withrow and Waterville resident, passed away peacefully at Central Washington Hospital on Friday, August 10, 2007, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on the family farm in Farmer, WA December 17, 1920, to Jens and Marion (Armstrong) Peterson. She grew up in Withrow, where she received her education and was elected Princess Withrow. Read More	Eunice Jordan, of Waterville, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and life-long Withrow and Waterville resident, passed away peacefully at Central Washington Hospital on Friday, August 10, 2007, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on the family farm in Farmer, WA December 17, 1920, to Jens and Marion (Armstrong) Peterson. She grew up in Withrow, where she received her education and was elected Princess Withrow. After high school, she attended beauty school in Wenatchee and was employed as a beautician until returning home to marry Emmanuel "EJ" Jordan on December 29, 1943. They made their home in Withrow, where she was a cook for the Withrow School and a homemaker, as well as assisting her husband in their farming operation. After her husband's death in 1995, she moved to Waterville. Eunice was a quiet, unassuming individual, always putting others before herself. Her family was her life and the very center of her being and we all benefited greatly because of it. She was an excellent cook and loved preparing delicious meals for family gatherings. Gardening was a joy. Her yard flourished with lovely flowers and bountiful vegetables. She loved quilting and she had a special skill for making beautiful baby blankets, which are treasured by all of the recipients. She was an active member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Withrow. She was a faithful volunteer, donating countless hours at the Waterville Historical Society Thrift Shop. She lived life to the fullest until the day her Lord called her home. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, EJ; sisters, Glenys and MaryJane Jordan; brothers, Stanley, Clyde and Lloyd Peterson; an infant son, Gary; and son-in-law, Harry Murphy. She is survived by her five children: sons, Dennis (Kathy) Jordan of Coulee City, Steve (Becky) Jordan and LeeRoy (Mardy) Jordan, all of Waterville, daughters, Carol (Doug) Stroud of Moses Lake and Barbara Murphy of Cashmere; nine grandchildren, Melissa (Lance) Johnson, Deanne (Joe) Collier, Wendy (Rob) Larson, Scott Stroud, Denise, Vaughn, Wade and Heath Jordan, Matt (Rachel) Murphy and Abby (Josh) O'Brien; and ten great-grandchildren, Shae Parker, Emma Johnson, Blake, Brayden and Braxton Collier, Kolby, Hailley and Brody Larson and Katelyn Murphy; and many special friends. A Funeral Service will be held at the United Lutheran Church in Waterville on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. Concluding Service and Internment will follow at the Waterville Cemetery. Viewing will be from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at the Waterville Funeral Home. The casket will remain closed at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Waterville Ambulance Fund, Holy Cross Lutheran Church or any organization of your choice, in her name. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waterville Funeral Home.
