Mrs. Shelley was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Charles V. and Mattie Owens Johnson. She was a member of Cool Springs Southern Methodist Church. She was also predeceased by a son, Charles Wayne Shelley, a sister, Edith Murphy, and a son in law, Buddy Sellers. Surviving are: a son, James T. Shelley, Jr. (Diane) of Aynor; three daughters, Mary Ellen Sellers of Florence, SC, Elizabeth Ann Richardson (Jerry) of Conway, and Sylvia Lewis (Robert)... Mrs. Shelley was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Charles V. and Mattie Owens Johnson. She was a member of Cool Springs Southern Methodist Church. She was also predeceased by a son, Charles Wayne Shelley, a sister, Edith Murphy, and a son in law, Buddy Sellers. Surviving are: a son, James T. Shelley, Jr. (Diane) of Aynor; three daughters, Mary Ellen Sellers of Florence, SC, Elizabeth Ann Richardson (Jerry) of Conway, and Sylvia Lewis (Robert) of Aynor; two brothers, Charles "Sam" Johnson (Hattie) of Galivants Ferry and Paul Johnson (Emma) of Conway; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a special friend and caregiver, Willie Ann Mitchell of Aynor. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Friday at Cool Springs Southern Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Lewis and Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 3:00 until 4:00 PM Friday. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Amedisys Hospice Care for the care they gave during Mrs. Shelley's illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Cool Springs Southern Methodist Church, 3045 Hwy 319, Aynor, SC 29511.
