Description	:	Eva's parents were George and Elizabeth Balmer. Eva and William's only child was adopted. Though her obit states she married in 1882, Indiana marriage records (Book 5, page 368) instead states she married 5 Dec 1881; with the license returned 5 Dec 1882. Obituary appeared in the Tipton Tribune, 15 Aug. 1941. In part: "... a resident of this county for 78 years, died at her home in Windfall early Friday morning following a long illness. Prior to her death, Mrs. McClish was the oldest living member of the Windfall Eastern Star chapter and was an active worker in chapter activities. She was a member of the Methodist church. The deceased was born as one of six children to George [McClish] and Elizabeth Bolner [Balmer] at Pendleton, Ohio, Feb. 11, 1861. She came to Windfall with her parents at the age of two and had lived there continuously from that time. In 1882 she was married to William McClish, who has been an invalid for a number of years. The couple had no children but adopted Walter Thurman McClish and reared him from the age of five years to maturity. Both survive. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Rose Ann Cirtin of Anderson; a brother, Edwards, of Gary, and six grandchildren...Burial will be in Brookside cemetery at Windfall"). [My corrections - RW] Note: There is no "Pendleton, Ohio". However, her family was living in Perry Township, Shelby County at the time of her birth, which contains a "Pemberton". It may be that the person supplying the information was not certain of her actual place of birth, putting Pendleton instead of Pemberton.
