She was born May 5, 1935, in Carlisle, Wyo., to Waldon and Peggy Blakeman. Eva Jo lived with her family in Wyoming, Washington and Oregon, graduating from high school in Vale, Ore. IGNATIUS --Eva Jo Anderson, 61, of St. Ignatius died of natural causes Feb. 9 at Kalispell Regional Hospital. She was born May 5, 1935, in Carlisle, Wyo., to Waldon and Peggy Blakeman. Eva Jo lived with her family in Wyoming, Washington and Oregon, graduating from high school in Vale, Ore. In 1956, she moved to St. Ignatius and lived with her sister and her husband. She worked as a waitress in the Montauk Cafe. On Feb. 13, 1957, she married Gail Anderson in Polson. They moved to Seattle, where Gail worked for Boeing. Longing for Montana, they moved back to St. Ignatius, where Gail worked for the Flathead Irrigation Project. Eva Jo was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. Later on, Gail and Jo took over the family farm, raising certified seed potatoes and small grains. After retiring from the farm, Jo went to work for the Lake County Council on Aging. She liked working with the elderly, and being able to visit and help them. Jo always saw the positive things in everybody. Known to her friends as "Jo", she enjoyed sewing and quilting. she made many beautiful quilts. She collected antiques. Jo was a Cub Scout den mother, something she really enjoyed. She was always supportive of school and community events. Jo was preceded in death by a son, Ted; her father Waldon Blakeman, and a sister, Dorothy Heidegger. Jo is survived by her husband Gail of St Ignatius; two sons and one daughter, Aaron and his wife Beth of Missoula, Barbara Jo of St. Ignatius and Clint of Belgrade; six grandchildren: Jessica, Kendra and Chelsea of Missoula and Amanda, Sarah and Kyle of St. Ignatius; her mother, Peggy Blakeman of Lake Norden, S.D.; brothers Ray and Silas Blakeman of Marengo, Wis., Russell Blakeman of La Center, Wash., and Herb Blakeman of Hot Springs; sisters Esther Jolman of Marengo, Retha Massie and Edith Ek, both of Vancouver, Wash., Ruth Kangas of Lake Norden, Mary Johnson of Hayti, S.D., Ida Rose Lytton of Pablo and Buelah Finley of Hot Springs. Funeral services were held Feb. 12 at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church at Lakeside. Burial was at Pleasant View Cemetery in St. Ignatius. Jo was laid to rest next to her son Ted.
