She was united in marriage to Frederich George Safken on Jan. 5, 1897 at St. Patrick's church in Marengo. Two children were born to this union, Joseph and Eva Mae. They farmed near Malcom until moving to Victor in 1909 where she maintained her home until 1951, when she then resided with her son and daughter-in-law. She was united in marriage to Frederich George Safken on Jan. 5, 1897 at St. Patrick's church in Marengo. Two children were born to this union, Joseph and Eva Mae. They farmed near Malcom until moving to Victor in 1909 where she maintained her home until 1951, when she then resided with her son and daughter-in-law. She entered Goeke Nursing home in Montezuma in 1970. In January 1975 she was moved to the new senior home in Montezuma where she died Monday morning, May 26, at the age of 99 years, 7 months and 6 days. She was a member of St. Bridget Church and the Altar and Rosary Society, Victor. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Alice Safken of Victor, a granddaughter, Joan and husband, Everett Iburg and one great granddaughter, Leanne of Victor; one brother Nick, Brooklyn, and one sister, Mrs. Kate Reitzler of Deep River. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred in 1949; her daughter Eva Mae in 1924, and her son Joe in 1969; four sisters, Mary Kline, Mrs. Mayme Wanchura, Mrs. Agnes Goodman and Mrs. Maggie Lane; five brothers, Pete, George, Joe, John and Frank. Funeral rites were held Wednesday, May 28, at 10 a.m. at St. Bridget church in Victor with Rt. Rev. Msgr. E. C. Greer officiating. Pallbearers were her nephews, Basil Cline, William Kline, John Steyaert, Francis Cline, Ted Reitzler and Leonard Cline. Interment was in IOOF cemetery at Victor.
