Description	:	EAST WENATCHEE - Eva Leona Sauer Golden, 87, of East Wenatchee and a former Cashmere and Leavenworth resident, died Thursday, Jan. 19, at Highline Convalescent Center where she has lived for the past four years. She was born May 14, 1907, at Everett to Peter and Mary (Berg) Sauer. She moved with her family to Leavenworth as a child where she attended school. She graduated from Leavenworth High School. Read More	EAST WENATCHEE - Eva Leona Sauer Golden, 87, of East Wenatchee and a former Cashmere and Leavenworth resident, died Thursday, Jan. 19, at Highline Convalescent Center where she has lived for the past four years. She was born May 14, 1907, at Everett to Peter and Mary (Berg) Sauer. She moved with her family to Leavenworth as a child where she attended school. She graduated from Leavenworth High School. She married William R. Golden on Dec. 11, 1931, in Wenatchee. They made their home in this area until moving to Nevada where Mr. Golden worked on the construction of Boulder Dam. They moved back to the Northwest for Mr. Golden to work on Grand Coulee Dam. After that, they moved along the West Coast numerous times as Mr. Golden worked as a concrete inspector for the government. Among the towns they lived in were Merrill, Ore.; Klamath Falls, Ore.; Shasta Dam, Calif.; and Tulelake, Calif.; Winthrop; and Leavenworth; They moved to Quincy in 1949 to work on the Columbia Basin Project. After his retirement, they moved to Sequim where they were active in the Sequim Rock Club. Several years after Mr. Golden died in 1971, Mrs. Golden moved to Cashmere to live near her son. She attended the Cashmere Presbyterian Church. She moved to the convalescent center four years ago after breaking her hip. Survivors include her son, Glen Golden of East Wenatchee; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. At her request, there will be no public service. Arrangements are by Betts Funeral Home, Wenatchee.
