Description	:	Eva M. Schindler, 90, of Kimball, died at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff on Monday, May 12, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Kimball with Pastor Carla Gunn officiating. Eva Mae Schindler was born in Pine Bluffs, Wyo. on August 7, 1923, the daughter of Carson W. and Nellie Maude (South) Slingerland. She grew up on a farm near Lindberg, Wyo. where her parents homesteaded. Eva attended Golden Prairie School in Laramie County, and then graduated from the Pine Bluffs High School in 1941. She then attended Normal Training in Burns, Wyo. and received her teaching degree. She taught in a one room school house located at Horse Creek, Wyo., northwest of Cheyenne. She met Percy (Pete) Schindler, a farmer in Banner County and on August 27, 1943 they were married in Lindberg, Wyo. Eva and Pete lived on the family farm in Banner County until moving to Kimball in 1957. Eva worked at Farm Bureau and had waitress and bartender jobs at various places over the years including the Calico Inn, Hik'ry Inn, Kimball Country Club, and Vince's. Her last job was as hostess at the Super 8 Motel. She loved to visit with people and she knew them and they knew her. Eva loved bowling and was on Hoppy's Water Service Team for many years with the same teammates. They made many trips to bowling tournaments over the years. She crocheted hundreds of afghans over the years and gave many of them to her family and friends as gifts. She loved reading and doing word puzzles, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff and residents of the Kimball County Manor/Assisted Living for making her last year enjoyable, and the staff at Regional West Medical Center for her recent care. Survivors include her children Claudia (John) Olafson of Alliance, Hal (Vicki) Schindler of Baker, Fla., and Trudy Schindler of Scottsbluff; grandchildren Tonia Schindler and Casey Schindler both of Kimball, Sam (Katie) Schindler, and Becky (Scott) Hobvack both of Baker, Fla. and Michael Olafson of Denver; great grandchildren Jasmine, Trey, Shay, Dailynn and Kason of Kimball, and Travis, Lindsey and Mallory all of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and daughter-in-law Roger and Donna Schindler, 3 brothers, 1 sister and her parents-in-law and sisters and brothers-in-law.
