Elizabeth, 1896- Note: Obituary states she had 10 children, 5 surviving to mourn her passing. 1900 Census indicates she had 11 children, 5 living March 27, 1902 issue, Keota Eagle Mrs. Michael Gross passed away at her home in Harper, last Friday, after an illness of four and a half months. The lady's maiden name was Magdalena Buch. She was born in Tiensdorf Germany, in 1842, hence was in her 60th year at the time of her demise. She came to America with her family in 1855. The family settled in Keokuk County, Iowa on the farm that has been the Buch home until the present day. In 1863 she was united in marriage to Michael Gross. To them 10 children were born. five of whom, with their father, survive her, as follows, Peter of Harper, Anna of Keota, Kate, Maggie and Michael Jr. all living at the home place near Harper. Mrs. Gross was reared in the Catholic faith. Funeral and burial at Clear Creek. Catherine Gross, age 25, daughter of Michael Gross and Mary M.
