Eva Mildred Jass, the daughter of Edward and Anna (Fagen) Evanson was born Oct. 28, 1915, at Miller. She attended school at Miller. On May 6, 1932, she was married to Otto H. Jass at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garner. They made their home in Garner all of their lives. Eva was a homemaker but also had various jobs in the community. She enjoyed her family, friends and crocheting. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was an active member. She is survived by three sons, Gary Jass and his wife, Arlene, of Clear Lake, Daryle Jass and his wife, Carol, of Ankeny, and Douglas Jass and his wife, Marilynn, of Remer, Minn.; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Velva Cope, of Thornton, Colo.; and a brother, Lawrence Evanson, of Thornton, Colo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Jass on Feb. 5, 1989; her daughter, Connie Rae Albers; three grandchildren, Cindy Jass, Scott Jass and Randy Lee Jass; her parents; three sisters, Mazie C. Paulsen, Fern Erickson and Edna Case; and four brothers, Milton Evanson, Robert Evanson, Merle Evanson and Perle Evanson. Cataldo Funeral Chapel, (515) 923-2841.
