Description	:	Eva Geis Oct 31,1908-Jan 12,2009 Eva Viola Geis, age 100, passed away January 12, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff. Her Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff, with Pastor Mike Mead officiating. At her request, Eva's remains were cremated, and following the memorial service inurnment will take place at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. After graduation, she attended and graduated from Platte Valley Commercial College in Scottsbluff. Eva married Ivan Geis November 9, 1937 in Scottsbluff. She and Ivan farmed in the North Platte Valley for 36 years before retiring and moving to Gering. Eva was very talented. She studied music, played the piano and gave lessons for many years. She was a seamstress, a painter and loved to garden. She enjoyed being part of the Old Settlers gathering at Oregon Trail Days, where she was a familiar fixture at the piano. She also enjoyed and looked forward to eating and visiting at the Gering Senior Center. She was a member of the Gering Baptist Church.She is survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
