Description	:	Ottumwa Courier Evangelos "Evan" Zagres, 57, of 419 North Ash street, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday. Coroner Gordon Traul said death was due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The coroner said Zagres was mentally disturbed over the condition of his health, which was poor. Mr. Zagres was a former co-owner of the Washington Dry Cleaners. He retired in 1947 due to ill health. Nelson post No. 3, American Legion. Surviving are his wife, Olive; seven daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Shanefelt, Mrs. Deloris Dreier, and Mrs. Shirley Emmack all of Long Beach, Calif. Mrs. Helen Wolff of Chicago, Mrs. Esther Smith of Ottumwa, Miss Norma and Miss Dorothy Zagres at home; a son Paul Zagres who is in military service stationed in Okinawa; and eight grandchildren. The body is at the Reece funeral home awaiting completion of funeral arrangements. ~~~~~~ Ottumwa Courier Funeral services for Evangelos "Evan" Zagres, 67, of 419 North Ash street, who died Sunday, will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Reece funeral home and at 9 a.m. at the Sacred Heart church. Burial will be made at a later date pending arrival of a son from Okinawa. Friends will meet at 8 o'clock tonight at the funeral home to recite the Rosary. ~~~~~~~~ Ottumwa Courier Graveside services for Evan Zagres, 69, of 419 North Ash street, who died January 11, will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Memorial Lawn cemetery. The Rev. E.J. O'Hair, pastor of the Sacred Heart Catholic church, will be in charge. Military services will be in charge of the O.B. Nelson post, American Legion.
