She died Wednesday November 19, 2008, at Golden Living Center in Norfolk. Evelyn Anna Reikofski was born March 9, 1916 to Otto and Anna (Anderson) Taake at Petersberg, NE. She was baptized at Our Saviour Lutheran Church near Petersberg and attended grade school in District 38 Boone County, NE. In 1929 she moved with her parents to a farm south of Tilden. She was confirmed June 1, 1930 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden by Rev. H. H. Sagehorn. She graduated from Tilden High School in 1933 and attended Wayne State Teachers College. She taught elementary school at Saint Clair Dist. 2 Antelope County for 3 years until she married Ervin Jonas Reikofski on June 1, 1938 at her parent's home by Rev. H. H. Sagehorn. They had one child, Timothy Ervin Reikofski. Evelyn worked at Manor Hall Nursing Home 20 years-the last 10 years as assistant administrator and then administrator until retiring January 1, 1981. She taught Sunday School for 20 years and belonged to the Ladies Aide and LWML all her adult life. She held many offices during this time and was LWML Zone 3 Treasurer. She and her husband lived on their farm until January 1, 1964 when they retired and moved into Tilden. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 1, 1998. Evelyn died Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Norfolk at the age of 92. She is survived by her son, Timothy and his wife Valeria; one granddaughter, Kriste Mott and her husband Bill; and great granddaughter, Jessica Mott; one sister, Mildred Wallin and her husband Ralph; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ervin Reikofski; two brothers, Raymond and Ronald Taake; and a sister, Myrtle Soulier.
