She was born on December 5, 1926 in Glasgow, IA to Parvin and Helen Thomson Howell. On February 15, 1947 she married Leo George Zumdome and he passed away on June 29, 2003. Read More	Evelyn B. Zumdome, 88, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 5:38 AM on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at The Kensington. She was born on December 5, 1926 in Glasgow, IA to Parvin and Helen Thomson Howell. On February 15, 1947 she married Leo George Zumdome and he passed away on June 29, 2003. Evelyn worked at the Sheaffer Pen Company for twenty years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church Holy Family Parish, the Altar and Rosary Society, CLA and also several card clubs. Evelyn was a 1944 graduate of Fairfield High School. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially all the family gatherings. She also enjoyed playing cards, dancing, shopping and going on bus trips. Survivors include two sons, Larry (Rhonda) Zumdome and Ron "Zoomer" (Barbara) Zumdome both of Ft. Madison; two daughters, Diane (Michael) Foster of New Bern, NC and Becky (Steve) Rung of Ft. Madison; five grandchildren, Joshua Foster of Boston, MA, Heather (Randy) Stuecker of Pilot Grove, IA, Erik (Juillet) Zumdome of Kansas City, MO, Adam (Ashley) Rung of Kahoka, MO and Katie (Colby Kreiss) Rung of Donnellson; six great grandchildren, Dylan and Riley Stuecker, Logan Zumdome, Leo Rung, Karsyn and Calan Kreiss; two sisters, Fern Crafton of Fairfield and Margaret Newell of Des Moines; two sisters-in-laws, Jeneale Zumdome of Ft. Madison and Rachel Howell of Fairfield; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Vernie Metz; two brothers, George and Thomas Howell. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM and the family will meet with friends from 2 – 4 PM with a Wake Service to be held at 4 PM all at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral mass will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Sacred Heart Church, Holy Family Parish with Rev. David Wilkening officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Holy Family Parish or Holy Trinity School Art Department. Online condolences may be left at the King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory website: www.kinglynk.com.
